District Heating? It’s all about taking energy released as heat from a variety of sources and connecting them together through a system of highly insulated pipes - increasing efficiency greatly. This is a system which is great for customers and the environment alike.

There is a growing case being made for expansion of such heating networks; a recent report from the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) suggested that by using low carbon fuels they could potentially meet almost half of all UK heat demand. All while reducing national decarbonisation costs by £3Billion.

The UK is now a net importer of natural gas, meaning that the interest in district heating is likely to increase in the coming years owing to a desire for greater energy security. If installed and maintained correctly, this system can also reduce carbon output further, benefit the local economy through efficiency and reduce fuel bills for end consumers including householders.
